Composition Roofs

Composition shingles come in a variety of manufacturers, styles and colors to compliment your home.

A quality composition roof, if installed properly, should last you 20 to 25 years on a 30 year laminated dimensional shingle and 12-15 years for a 20-year 3-tab shingle. Extreme Texas weather conditions do play a part in reducing the amount of service life you will receive from your roof. Although it is a little more of an investment, a laminated dimensional shingle is typically the best value and provides better durability and curb appeal for your money.

Something to consider: Are you considering selling your home within the next ten years? A Buyer's Inspector can red flag your roof and will expect you to purchase a new roof before you can sell your home to the buyer. Dimensional laminated shingles are barely at half-life and still look fresh after 10 years, because they are more durable. A 3-tab roof may put you in a position of purchasing a roof, prior to selling your home.

Beware of "Storm Chasers" who represent themselves as a local company, in business for many years. Many buy local phone numbers and ads, or only pop up during storms. Ask to check out their physical address. Did you know that it is illegal for them to offer to buy down your insurance deductible?
