We are interested in delivering the best products for our customers. For this reason we promote metal roof systems that have concealed fasteners. Even though we do a professional job at installing screw-down systems, concealed fastener systems are your safest choice.
Consider this: Not all metal roofs protect for a lifetime. There are screw-down type metal roofs with exposed fasteners. These types of roofs are not considered to be a lifetime roof because the fasteners will begin to back out due to expansion and contraction and eventually begin to rust. The fastener's rubber grommets or gaskets, will begin to weather and dry out, leaving holes all across your roof and exposing your home to rain and leaks through the screw holes. Although they are not a lifetime, maintenance-free roof, as are standing seam roof systems, this type of roof may provide value for the homeowner who prefers metal, but is on a tight budget.
