Google partners with LEGO Education, Virgin Galactic, Scientific American and National Geographic to award the Grand Prize winner among the top 16 projects, individuals or teams, from around the world. Additionally, there are partner specific awards to celebrate those who solved the world&#8217;s problems through engineering and experimentation.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.googlesciencefair.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The program<\/a> includes formal project presentations to the judging panel, evening activities, family outings and plenty of time to network at the \u201cCrash Pads\u201d on campus and at the Sheraton Palo Alto.<\/p>\n<p>This year&#8217;s Google Science Fair finalists traveled from 7 different countries from as close as Cupertino, California to as far as Zambia, Africa. Finalist projects include fighting drought with orange peels and avocado oil, detecting lung cancer early through breath tests, smart wound care for the future, and keeping farms alive on a budget to name a few.<\/p>\n<p>The Google Science Fair concludes with a Community Day Science Playground, where schools from the Bay Area visit the Campus to meet the finalists and watch the award celebration.
