After it was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2020\/3\/6\/21162247\/sxsw-2020-cancelled-coronavirus-austin-texas-virus-fears-public-health-event\">canceled altogether<\/a> in 2020, it returned with a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sxsw.com\/news\/2020\/announcing-sxsw-online-a-digital-experience-from-march-16-20-2021\/\">new virtual format<\/a> in 2021. This year, it included a mix of both online and onsite experiences, with COVID-safety guidelines firmly in place.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>As Nadia Chaudhury describes in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bizbash.com\/production-strategy\/experiential-marketing-activations-sponsorships\/media-gallery\/22131649\/sxsw-2022-brand-activations\">BizBash piece,<\/a> despite an absence in experiences put on by some of the top brands, the brands who were there, including Slack, made an indelible impact. <\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3>A Closer Look at the Slack Digital #HQube Experience<\/h3>\n<p>Originally debuted as a live, interactive counterpart to Slack\u2019s virtual Frontiers event, the Slack HQube made a splash with audiences on <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/SlackHQ\/status\/1459247930603409416\">both sides of the country<\/a> when it first appeared in San Francisco\u2019s Yerba Buena Square as well as Grand Central Terminal in New York City.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Meant to playfully and beautifully showcase all of the ways Slack has revolutionized how\u2014and where\u2014people get their work done, the primary inspiration behind the design was a digital headquarters (HQ). Within the easy-to-navigate environment, visitors enjoyed fun and social-media worthy photo opportunities (complete with backdrops that reflected Slack\u2019s \u201cwork from anywhere\u201d and \u201ccollaboration made easy\u201d philosophies).<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>From there it was on to the Digital HQube, with four sides each representing a different theme (\u201cWork from Anywhere,\u201d \u201cWelcome to Your Digital World\u201d and more) coinciding with fun, interactive elements.
