Attendees are made to feel like they\u2019re literally in an underwater paradise! What makes pop-up shops like this even more impressive is that its goal is to raise awareness about the human impact on the environment.<\/p>\n<p>Open from June 8th to October 23rd in New York City, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2019\/06\/04\/arts\/design\/ocean-cube-pop-up-new-york.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ocean Cube<\/a> works with <em>Sure We Can,<\/em> a Brooklyn-based \u201cnon-profit recycling center, community space and sustainability hub.\u201d <em>Sure We Can<\/em> provides a space for canners\u2014people who collect bottles and cans from their neighborhoods\u2014to come together with others doing the same thing and to promote overall environmental awareness. Collecting thousands of bottles from Sure We Can, Ocean Cube creates a room, Recycle Bank, showing a sea of plastic bottles amid a vanishing creature.<\/p>\n<p>The pop-up shop\u2019s Coral Tunnel, is designed to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.prnewswire.com\/news-releases\/ocean-cube-the-first-oceanic-and-immersive-underwater-exhibit-to-debut-in-new-york-city-next-month-300851859.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">represent<\/a> \u201cthe unique channel between the polluted surface and the undersea.\u201d The actual space itself is also fully sustainable, with recycling, donating, and minimal waste at the top of mind for designers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnother recycling effort was to constantly salvage and reuse the waste material during the fabrication process,\u201d notes Ocean Cube.\u201d The plexiglass installation in the transition room was all from salvaging the leftover of cutting the [display] jellyfish and shark. The big signage board was from abandoned window glass. The storage shelves were found on [the] street&#8230; We are planning to either sell or donate all the installations after the show is over, to minimize throwing waste back [to] our environment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.salesforce.com\/form\/conf\/state-of-the-connected-customer-3rd-edition\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Salesforce State of the Connected Customer Report,<\/a> 74% of customers say a company\u2019s sustainability practices matter more than they did a year ago.
